Proper inbound handling is basis for the next steps
The correct and fast inbound handling of goods forms the basis for efficiently carrying out the next steps in the outbound logistics process. After unloading, the goods arriving at SMART HUB Logistics are carefully checked. Are the quantities and product codes in accordance with the pre-information which we received? In case products or packaging are damaged, we will act in accordance with the instructions of the customer. Sometimes these products will be repacked, sometimes they will be destroyed or recycled.
The goods are then assigned a location in the warehouse. This is the physical inbound handling of the goods. The storage location of the goods depends on the type of product and its throughput speed. Goods can be placed in racking on pallets, on the warehouse floor as bulk stock, or per item in the shelving racks.
Also, administratively the receipt of the goods will be recorded in our warehouse management system. The customer receives a daily update of this or can view, through a web-portal, the status of the inbound and outbound movements of goods at any moment in time.
